How we built this site: Lighthouse 100/100 and GPU animations together
Short answer: content always comes first, effects come second — and only on devices that can handle them. This post explains the decisions behind ekursoft.com, both to show our clients what we promise and to guide anyone planning a similar site.
Why Astro?
Most of a corporate site is text, images and forms; shipping a whole JavaScript app to every page is unnecessary. Astro compiles pages to plain HTML at build time and loads JavaScript only for the parts that truly need interaction (the "islands" architecture). Visitors see the text instantly; animations arrive afterwards.
Why the animations don't hurt speed
The GPU does the work, not the CPU: particle motion, waves and shape morphs are computed directly on the graphics card with small programs called shaders.
Content first: 3D scenes start after the page loads; headlines and text never wait for an animation.
Decide per device: desktops get the full Three.js scene, phones get a lightweight raw-WebGL version of a few kilobytes. Users who prefer reduced motion see no animation at all.
Stop when hidden: drawing pauses when the tab is in the background, saving battery.
Small but critical work for 100/100
We serve fonts from our own server instead of Google's (good for speed and privacy). CSS is inlined into each page, so there's no extra request to wait for. Image dimensions are declared up front so nothing shifts while loading. We measured every first-screen animation for layout shift — we even chose the characters in the headline effect so they never change line breaks.
For search engines and AI
Every page has structured data (Organization, Service, FAQ, Breadcrumb), Turkish–English pairing (hreflang), a sitemap generated from content and an llms.txt file summarizing the site for AI engines. New posts are announced to Bing and Yandex within seconds via IndexNow.
What's in it for a business?
Speed is money: slow pages lose visitors and rankings. The same care pays back as more sales on an e-commerce site and more appointments on a clinic site. Curious about your own site? Measure it with our free speed test.
We apply the same approach to our web, mobile and custom software projects. Planning something similar? Let's talk →
